WTF Firefox!

January 6th, 2006

What the hell! Firefox 1.5 is a resource hog on my Mac (Powerbook 1.25ghz 10.4.3). This is unbelievable! I am being forced to use something else now because this sucker while open and not displaying a website … where it looks like it is being “hidden” eats up over 80% of my cpu …. for doing nothing!

This is crap! It pisses me off … I really like Firefox and all of it’s features and extensions. Grr!

I have tried deleting everything that has to do with Firefox on my mac and went ahead installed it again hoping that it would work out … but nope same ol’ thing.

Anyone know why this is happening? Am I going to be left out in the cold waiting for a stable copy of Firefox for my mac again? I thought 1.5 was suppose to be “THE ONE” for mac? Is 2.0 now “THE ONE”?

*sigh* back to Safari I go.

    What about CAMINO?

  2. January 6th, 2006 at 15:24 | #2

Camino is to … umm .. .dumb … lol. What I mean by that is that Camino doesn’t have a built in sidebar like Firefox or Shiira … so if I want to look @ my bookmarks it opens up on top of my page I am viewing and the way it handles tabs is funny and very annoying if I want to close a tab in Firefox I just middle button it … I gotten way to spoiled by Firefox and Shiira :) but both tend to use a lot of cpu and memory after hours of using and leaving open :( .

That’s weird because Firefox 1.5 hardly takes up any resources on my computer, but I don’t have a Mac.
