Don’t worry I am still planning on it. As a matter a fact I am working on one this weekend and hopefully another the weekend after that. This weekend will be a redux of my first one. The next one I have a list to pick from.
After this I might do some Ruby on Rails tutorials Videos or write ups still working on it. I might do a video on how to use Mootools in a Ruby on Rails applications
or CakePHP
.
Either way just an update I am still working on it.

I hate Developing! Developing is not the most favorite thing in the world but I totally love the outcome of it and the challenge. I know I wrote about how much the rails community sucks but at the same time they don’t. They have pushed me into a different level of programming. It’s a major challenge now for me and I am loving it!
I was having some major problems with tagging, uploading and a login system but eventually I figured it all out. This past weekend I figured out how to integrate tagging and uploading to my web applications and today I got the login system dialed out
.
Before Rails I was coding in PHP and after that I started working with CakePHP which is built around the same idea as Rails but with PHP. CakePHP is great but the documentation and the lack of resources/examples really frowns down on it. They had a book deal and it feel thru which sucks because it would have really strengthened the CakePHP community. I am kinda thankful though that the book didn’t go thru just because I would still be struggling with CakePHP where with Rails I am already doing things I couldn’t imagine doing with CakePHP.
So … I love developing even more now because of Rails! Thanks Rails
and the community
.
On a side note the Rails Community still sucks
too many big heads

Flickr … I use it to host my photographs … not all of them but most of them. I still have about 2,000+ pictures to upload but before I do this I wanted to know if anyone can suggest a photo hosting that allows me to have full control of my photos and how I use them. For example I would like to sell some of my photographs and only show smaller versions of it or maybe just have the option to sell it on print. Also private and public viewing so family and friends can see it only. Hmm, what else … oh yeah an API or some way I can upload the picture without having to do it thru the web interface … that’s just a pain. That’s just a few of my example I would like.
I really like Flickr but I am just very curious if there is anything out there that is even remotely close to Flickr.
I have found these services and would like to look into them … has anyone used these and would you recommend any of them? Anything I haven’t listed maybe?
Zoto
Zooomr (I am really considering this one right now except they have shut everyone out right now while they are working on the new version of the site)
Fotki
Smugmug
ipernity
OR should I create my own? I really would like something that is taken care of professionally instead of having to manage it all the time.
Just so you know I have about 10 Gigs of Photos I have taken along with some of my Girlfriends pictures so … yea space can be a problem with some services.

About 4 days ago I managed installing Ruby on Rails on my Nokia N800 … this is great! I can now develop my app ANYWHERE I go and even run tests on it
. Now only if the browser that came with the Nokia N800 was a little bitty more up to date so I can run proper AJAX calls, but that is okay because this is better then me not doing anything.
So Develop Rails and read about rails all on the go … AWESOME!

Yup that’s right I am finally going to put up some videos :). One is an updated version to my Accordion HowTo and another is going to be how to add those cool tip pop-ups and I might do one on how to combine them … I am still thinking about that one just because I am not sure if it would make sense to. In anycase I will have them up shortly I am gathering my old project files and updating them to reflect Mootools 1.1.
I have learned a lot from my first video and all the comments I got. I hope these next two videos will be able to help as many people as the first one did.
What’s planned after these two videos? I might do a howto on cakephp or Ruby on Rails. Still thinking about it. I like showing people how to do stuff though not only do I help people learn it but t helps me learn it as well
