Back on the LG CU500

I have abandon my T-mobile Dash once more for the LG CU500 I got awhile ago. Someone did ask how did I manage getting the Tzones to work on the phone. This is what I did to make it work.

  1. Menu > Settings(9) > Connection(7) > Network Profiles(1)  
  2. New  
  3. Added information below
    • Title: T-Zones GPRS  
    • Bearer: GPRS  
    • Authentication: No Auth  
    • Username: Blank  
    • Password: Blank  
    • APN: wap.voicestream.com  
  4. Save It!  
  1. Menu > Settings(9) > Connection(7) > Network Profiles(1)  
  2. New  
  3. Added information below
    • Title: T-Zones WAP  
    • Bearer: GPRS  
    • Authentication: No Auth  
    • Username: Blank  
    • Password: Blank  
    • APN: wap.voicestream.com  
  4. Save It!  
  1. Menu > Settings(9) > Connection(7) > Network Profiles(1)  
  2. New  
  3. Added information below
    • Title: Picture Messaging  
    • Bearer: GPRS  
    • Authentication: CHAP  
    • Username: Blank  
    • Password: Blank  
    • APN: wap.voicestream.com  
  4. Save It!  
  1. Menu > Media Net(4) > Browser Settings(6) > Accounts(1)  
  2. Options > New  
  3. Added information below
    • Account Name: T-Zones GPRS  
    • Homepage: http://wap.t-zones.com  
    • Connection Mode: UDP(CO)  
    • Proxy Address: 216.155.165.050  
    • Security: None  
    • Time Out: 180  
    • Network Profile: Tzones GPRS  
  4. Save It!  
  1. Menu > My Stuff(8) > Applications(2)  
  2. Options > Java Accounts(1)  
  3. Options > New Account(1)  
  4. Added information below
    • Account Name: T-Zones GPRS  
    • Homepage: http://wap.t-zones.com  
    • Connection Mode: UDP(CO)  
    • Proxy Address: 216.155.165.050  
    • Port: 9201 (you might need this and might not)  
    • Security: None  
    • Time Out: 180  
    • Network Profile: Tzones GPRS  
  5. Save It!  

I know it’s a lot of steps but after all that the internet will work and Java applications should work. Currently they are not working for me but when I did use the phone prior to me switching over again Java applications worked. So YMMV :) . Now to figure out how to get my N800 to link thru bluetooth so I can have mobile internet. :-D
